Web Browser
AdaCare is a web application and does not require any computer equipment other than a PC or Macintosh, a web browser, and an Internet
connection. Your web browser must have JavaScript enabled (usually the default setting).
learn how to enable JavaScript on your computer.
When AdaCare displays pages from other web sites (like driving maps), it opens the page in a new window. If your browser has a pop-up
blocker, be sure to give permission for pop-up windows from AdaCare.
As a rule of thumb, any PC or Macintosh less than four years old should be fast enough to use AdaCare comfortably. Faster computers,
as always, are better. Wide monitors (17-inch or larger) are a good idea for viewing scheduling calendars, but any size monitor will
do.
AdaCare supports most popular web browsers, as listed in the table below. If you use a different browser, try it — it will probably
work just fine. Or, download one of these browsers for guaranteed compatibility.

Chrome, Firefox, and Safari are all fast browsers, and much faster than Internet Explorer. This benchmark was performed on a calendar with
1,400 visits per week,
similar to a medium-large agency. Results will vary for individual PCs.

Java
AdaCare does not require Java software. Although the names are similar, Java is not the same as JavaScript mentioned
above.
Internet Explorer Warnings
There is an issue in Internet Explorer that some larger home care agencies may notice. If you see a pop-up message on the Calendar
page that looks similar to this:
A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do
you want to abort the script?
This is simply a cautionary message, and does not indicate an actual problem with AdaCare or your PC. You can correct the warning
by going to this Microsoft web page, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175500.
Scroll down to the section
titled, “Fix it for me.” Then, click on the “Fix it” button and follow the instructions. Also, you can avoid this issue entirely by
installing a different browser as described earlier. If you need any assistance, please contact us and we’ll be glad to help.
